SEN Interventions
At Broad Town School, we run a range of interventions.
Some of the interventions are not just targetted at SEN children. Some of the interventions support children that are low average or just need to reinforce skills and build confidence in a small group situation. Programmes like Back on Track and Numbers Count have been very successful in enabling children to make accelerated progress. In literacy, Switch on to reading and writing have also helped accelerate the progress of borderline children.
We also have maths and reading buddies for children to support and work with other children.
Other examples of support we use include:
- Precision teach
- Talking tins
- Pre-teaching
- SPARKS (physical development)
- Talk and Draw
- Additional suport with handwriting
- Social skills activities
- Counselling
- Art therapy
- Equine Assisted Learning
